6 Well Porcelain Spot Plate
A spot plate lets you run many small reactions side by side using drops rather than test tubes. Six wells means six tests from a few drops of reagent each, which is why spot plates are standard in qualitative analysis and in any lab that would rather not fill six test tubes to answer one question.
This one is porcelain and the surface is glazed. The glaze does two jobs. It resists most organic solvents, so the plate is not consumed by the tests you run on it, and it gives a bright white background that makes a color change or a faint precipitate obvious. On a clear or dark surface the same result can be genuinely hard to call. The base is left unglazed so the plate sits flat on the bench without sliding.
The wells are 20 mm across and 6 mm deep, which holds enough volume to read a reaction clearly and stays shallow enough to rinse and dry quickly between runs. The plate itself is 86 by 56 mm, small enough to sit beside a notebook.
Common uses: pH testing with indicator solutions, qualitative analysis for precipitate formation, flame test sample preparation, microscale reactions, and side by side comparison against a known standard.
